Open Influence Brings Home OMMAs “Best Influencer Campaign”

Open Influence proudly took home the Best Influencer Campaign trophy during this year’s OMMA Awards, an annual ceremony that celebrates the best in online marketing, media and advertising. Announced in front of a live audience in NYC’s Cutting Room, the night featured some of the most creative and innovative campaigns from the past year.

Open Influence submitted in partnership with Universal Pictures for our Party With MA Influencer Campaign. Designed to promote the launch of Universal’s horror-thriller, MA, Open Influence recruited four social media creators to enact a week-long skit told through Instagram Stories.

Our fab four – Drew, Lily, Vivian and Landon – pretended to meet the movie’s title character, MA, and interacted with their followers to help “decide what to do” as her behavior grew increasingly dangerous.

Overall, “Party with MA” was an ambitious piece of digital storytelling, which succeeded due to the powerful strength of the influencer-follower relationship. Most Instagram Stories receive a 13 percent drop-off rate, while our influencers only received 3 percent over the course of the campaign.

We’re incredibly glad to have worked on such a fun and dynamic project with Universal Pictures. Thank you to OMMA, the Fab Four, and all of our partners!
