Twelve years ago, Dani Palavecino was a working TV actress in Chile who decided that wasn’t quite enough. She wanted to build something of her own — content on her own terms, in her own voice. She became the first TV actress in Chile to make that move. The industry caught up eventually.
Today she creates bilingual content that moves between humor, motherhood, and lifestyle with the ease of someone who has been doing this longer than most people have known what a content creator is. She connects with women and families across Latin America and the United States, and she does it while also being a mom — which, as she’ll tell you, changes the math on everything from what you post to whether you have 15 minutes to answer comments.
Q&A
How did your content creator journey start?
I think I started 12 years ago when I was in Chile. I’m an actress there, and I was doing TV series, and I was like, I want to create my own thing. I was the first TV actress in Chile that started to create content.
How do you decide what to share and what to keep private?
Since I am a mom, I tend to be more careful with my son. I show him, but not in a lot of situations.
What is your go-to ritual after posting?
It depends on the day. It depends on what I post. Some posts, I’m putting candles and praying — I need good numbers! But other days, I dedicate at least 15 minutes to answering comments, sharing to Instagram or TikTok stories, sending it to my friends. But sometimes when you’re a mom, you don’t have those 15 minutes, so you’re like — okay, it’s going to go good.
What app do you use the most, other than social platforms?
Netflix. But I don’t watch a lot of Netflix, because I don’t have time! My kids love to watch Netflix — but their shows.
What do you like to do when you are not online?
Definitely Netflix and chill. Or have a nice dinner with my husband and my son.
Tell us about one of your favorite campaigns you have worked on.
Fisher Price with my sister. We made a series. The brand really let us do our own thing as long as we showcased the products.
What advice would you give yourself when you were just getting started?
Everything is going to be amazing. You won’t believe what your life will be like in 10 years. Your future is so incredible.
