Intentional Women's Day

Q&A With Women Who Work in the Creator Marketing Space

This entry was posted in News on .

In honor of International Women’s Day, we want to speak to the ladies that help run our space at Open Influence. Open Influence is a global creator marketing company that is full of social media gurus and inspiring thought leaders.

Did you know that our U.S. Open Influence team is 78.79% women?

Surprising? Not at all.

Women make up nearly two-thirds of all public relations careers. Similar statistics arise when looking at the advertising world, with females making up 60%, according to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. Other estimates even state that the female percentage is closer to 73, or even 85 percent.

We are putting the spotlight on incredible women who have made a difference in how we work and continue to drive us forward by answering:

What piece of advice would you give someone stepping into the industry?

“Always stay true to yourself, know your worth, use your voice, and never settle.”

– Sierra Moore, Creative Director

“Become an influencer that’s easy to work with and savvy instead.”

– Jenifer Golden, Account Director

“- Speak, even when your voice shakes.

– Put your work on a billboard.

– When you need help with a problem, always suggest the solution.

– Reject the notion that empathy and compassion make you weak.

– If you become a hiring manager, hire passion and work ethic. You can’t teach either one.

– Being busy is not a badge of honor.

– Stumble forward.

– Rapport establishes trust. Build it.

– Take risks. A ship in the harbor is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.

– Iterate, iterate, iterate.

– Get comfortable admitting when you don’t know the answer.

– Actively show up to the tables where important decisions are being made.

– Attention to detail is the difference between good and great.

– Stay classy, sassy, and a little bit bad assy.

– Underpromise. Overdeliver.

– Maggie Reznikoff, VP of Account Management

“You are not an imposter | Stand up for, honor and share your thoughts & feelings, and do things your way. | Always pull up, never stoop down.”

– Alexandra Mathieu, Head of Strategy

“Your voice matters. Speak up. But always listen, before you speak.

You deserve to take up space.

 Your passion is your compass.

Believe the sky is the limit, but set your feet on the ground. Always.

Only look back to remember where you started. Stay humble.

Respect your intuition and your boundaries.”
