Thanksgiving is more than just a time for turkey and tradition. It’s the season to embody the spirit of gratitude through giving.

Thanksgiving can mean helping others. The act of giving fosters a sense of community and promotes personal well-being through acts of generosity and kindness.

For many, this is how they say “thanks” and support those in need during the holiday season. As Thanksgiving nears, creator marketing agency Open Influence has teamed up with the community-run, non-denominational kitchen Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA). This is the collaboration’s second year. Last year, they prepared nearly 500 meals and 600 cookies for those in need throughout LA County.

“Culture is such an important element in work, and giving back is a huge part of that,” said Joey Chowaiki, Open Influence co-founder and chief operating officer.

“I knew I wanted to get my staff together to give back to the country we live in, because it empowers us as people and makes us work even better together. So, as an annual event we host, the staff at LA’s Open Influence teams up with OBKLA for a two-hour community service. We chop, cook and create amazing meals for people directly in our community with a remarkable community-focused organization.”

This year, Open Influence is inviting clients and creators who work with the organization to help prepare meals with staff and workers at OBKLA.
