Insider Intelligence pegged 2023 back-to-school sales in the U.S. at $71.74 billion, up 5.5% compared with last year, and the research firm said back-to-school will account for 3.9% of total retail sales in the third quarter of 2023 and 1% of the full-year total, unchanged from 2022.
